About Patricia Rachidi
I have been painting on everything and in all medias for over 30 years. I began as a porcelain artist and spent time in the Orient absorbing ancient techniques which I passed on to my students. My escapades around the world teaching inspired me to paint on wood, fabric, glass and to do origional sculptures in red clay and porcelain. Collages in wood, paper and glass are a specialty of mine. I spent 20 years as a designer/manufacturer of costume jewelry in the U.S. but now am retired and have my studio where I have been teaching painting to adults and gifted children of all ages. I live in Morocco and am constantly inspired by the faces of people here and the beautiful light effects on the landscape and the sea. This is a truly inspiring country in that we have the mountains, deserts, ocean and even snow which gives an artist a variety of endless subjects to paint. There is a definite need here to work with as many artists as I can as their ability to study art seriously is very limited and aspiring artists try to study in Europe. So my goal is not only to expose my art but to give my collected knowledge to as many people as I can. My paintings are in the Royal Palace and in private collections around the world.
