Artist's Description
During the Ramadan in Morocco, the people do not eat from sunrise to sundown. The couple in the picture are waiting patiently, and devoutedly for the sun to set when they can break their fast with family and friends, usually beginning with milk, dates, boiled eggs, oil and bread. Afterwards later in the evening they can enjoy a full meal, sleep until before sunrise and have their breakfast.

I have been painting on everything and in all medias for over 30 years. I began as a porcelain artist and spent time in the Orient absorbing ancient techniques which I passed on to my students. My escapades around the world teaching inspired me to paint on wood, fabric, glass and to do origional sculptures in red clay and porcelain. Collages in wood, paper and glass are a specialty of mine. I spent 20 years as a designer/manufacturer of costume jewelry in the U.S. but now am retired and have my studio where I have been teaching painting to adults and gifted children of all ages.
